SHIPSTA, the leading freight procurement software provider, is thrilled to announce it has won the Procurement Technology Provider Award at the World Procurement Awards 2022.

This prestigious award recognises companies transforming the procurement world. Winning the award is another demonstration that SHIPSTA is leading the way for digital innovation in freight procurement globally.

“We are delighted to see our game-changing platform receiving widespread acclaim,” said David Waroquier, CEO of SHIPSTA. “This reinforces our commitment to yield significant advances in digital adoption in the transportation sourcing and procurement sector, across multiple industries. This recognition is strengthening SHIPSTA’s innovation leadership in the market and is pivotal in the digitalisation of the transportation procurement segment.”

Recognised as the pinnacle of professional achievement, the World Procurement Awards celebrate the most impressive individuals, teams and organisations in procurement. The awards, organized by Procurement Leaders, bring together the top companies in the logistics and procurement sector every year.

SHIPSTA’s success comes at a time when most major companies are turning to digital freight procurement to increase their supply chain resilience. In the current era of major market turbulences, digital adoption is the gatekeeper to making supply chain resilience and procurement agility a success. Enterprises have come to realise their strategy is at risk if they cannot better embed digital procurement processes into their business.

The judges said: “SHIPSTA’s entry showcased great innovation and demonstrated how they are bringing digitalization to a historically manual industry and removing friction in an area so critical to all our supply chains. As one judge said, ‘It’s a game changer and highly relevant with the current supply chain challenges’.”

SHIPSTA collaborated with their client, global leader in innovative & sustainable building materials, Holcim, for the award. Holcim worked with SHIPSTA to provide a detailed case study on how adopting the digital platform has innovated their freight procurement and management processes.

After a year of partnership, Holcim has already implemented SHIPSTA’s platform for regular tenders as well as for spot tenders in 30 countries across all their product lines.

“Thanks to SHIPSTA, we have reduced our logistics cost significantly on the tendered freight volume. We are managing our freight procurement more effectively and efficiently. Our teams are now able to focus on the negotiation process and operate more strategically” – Alexander Scheld, Global Head of Logistics at Holcim.
