Demonstrating further investment in expansion, European road freight experts Europa Road has strengthened its ‘own service’ network, boosting its reach across Southern Europe. This provides yet another service routed through its state-of-the-art £30m 1Hub facility in Dartford, the UK’s largest European groupage hub.

The new weekly service, which will operate on Europa’s own trailers, was launched in June, having partnered with top Greek operator, Athens-based Orphee Beinoglou SA. Boosting Europa Road’s current network provides another vital link for imports and exports to this promising economy. After a turbulent period, the Greek economy grew by 5.9 per cent last year.

Europa Road is the expert road freight division of the UK’s largest independent logistics provider, Europa Worldwide Group.

This new route is an opportunity for Europa to open the door to existing customers who ship to Greece and extend its offer to a wider customer base.

This not only expands the operators’ geographical reach but also enables customers looking to use the route the opportunity to utilise Europa’s extended services. In particular, its Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) product Europa Flow, which has been boosted further recently with a Money Back Guarantee (MBG) option.

The introduction of the new guarantee follows two successful years for Europa Flow, which was launched to tackle the challenges of Brexit. The product ensures customs declarations and duty requirements are taken care of in advance of shipments arriving at their destination.

Europa’s new Money Back Guarantee service is available on Europa Flow shipments between the UK and the EU. The service will ensure full refunds for consignments not delivered on time.

According to a 2022 report Greek exports to the UK amounted to 2.142 billion euros, while imports were at 854.2 million euros.

Dan Cook, Operations Director at Europa commented; “This is one of the final pieces of the jigsaw in Southern Europe. Providing this new direct service fills a gap in our extensive network, enabling us to meet customer demand.

“Most importantly we can extend our offer of Europa Flow and our MBG to customers who want a reliable hassle-free service. Partnering with the country’s top operator means we can provide the highest quality, most frequent and reliable service on the market.”

Europa has continued to develop its routes across Europe, and the Greek service is an important part of this expansion, using best-in-class partners. Established in 1923, Orphee Beinoglou SA is celebrating its 100th year anniversary. In 2022, Orphee Beinoglou (OB) was nominated as a Greek “super brand” for Freight Forwarding & Logistics across South Eastern Europe. With its century of experience and personal commitment, OB provides a “one stop shop” with a full range of solutions.

Europa Road provides market leading European road freight services. Its network of 20 sales branches (across the UK and the Republic of Ireland) manage the shipments of goods into Dartford, from where freight connects with daily, direct services to continental hubs.

Europa Worldwide Group is an ambitious independent logistics operator with three divisions, Europa Road, Europa Air & Sea, and Europa Warehouse, and has been featured in The Sunday Times Top Track 250 for three years. The group employs over 1,400 people with 29 international sites in the UK, the Republic of Ireland, Europe, Hong Kong, China and the UAE. The global operator recently reported a record turnover of £302m for the last 12 months, as of August 2022, and remains on track with its ambitious investment programme.
