Zeus Labs, the developer of the evolutionary new haulage and freight booking and management software solution, has announced the appointment of Matt Jones to the senior leadership team. Jones joins from Wincanton after 4 years, where he held senior planning and relationship management roles.

This announcement sees another established member of the haulage industry join Zeus Labs following the addition of Sam McGuirk as Commercial and Growth Director for the digital freight management provider.

Zeus Labs has identified the UK as a key strategic focus and is set to continue its impressive growth. The appointment of Matt as Head of operations signals the next phase of the company’s development.

Jones will be able to draw on a wealth of experience that spans over 16 years in logistics and planning in the haulage industry. Following his time at Wincanton, where he was the Planning Manager on a National Cement, Jones held planning positions for Severn Trent Water & for Cemex cement.

Commenting on his appointment, Jones said: “For many years the freight industry hasn’t really taken advantage of the undoubted benefits of digital transformation. However, with Zeus Labs continuing to drive positive change through innovative technology, I believe the transport industry is now ready for that change.

“Zeus Labs has a vision to make a positive difference, not just to shippers, but to small haulage companies and every aspect of the industry. Simply put, Zeus Labs is increasing the efficiency and longevity of the industry by cutting out empty miles & increasing backload availability.”

Jai Kanwar, co-founder of Zeus Labs said, “Since we launched in the UK market earlier this year, Zeus Labs has aimed to inspire positive digital transformation in the UK freight haulage sector. To achieve that goal, we need the very best people in the sector and by recruiting Matt we have yet again strengthened our management team with a first class hire. We are delighted and very proud that he has chosen Zeus Labs as the company to watch in the sector.”

More information

Using Zeus Labs, shippers retain control of their shipping capabilities and can choose to only invite trusted suppliers to bid for specific jobs, as well as manage all documents and communications in one place. Shippers also have the option of placing jobs on an open market but still retain control of the bidding process and effortlessly coordinate large numbers of shipments across multiple partners.

For hauliers, the Marketplace allows them to find the most efficient and most profitable jobs, increase full truck-load journeys and stay on top of your vehicle and driver schedules. As with the shipper’s benefits, hauliers can easily manage subcontractors as well as all documents and communications in one place.
