wincanton scoop 3pl title

Wincanton, the largest British logistics business, and XPO Logistics have been jointly awarded the title of BiS Henderson Third Party Logistics Provider of the Year at the Hermes Retail Week Supply Chain awards. The awards, held at the Hilton Park Lane in London, are an opportunity to recognise companies that are re-inventing all aspects of the modern retail supply chain.

The Retail Week judges highlighted Wincanton as a company that has delivered the most innovative and creative solutions to retail customers over the last 12 months. To win the award, Wincanton were judged against a series of criteria such as evidence of innovation, execution of those initiatives, a level of true collaboration with retail clients and evidence of benefits these solutions provide to customers.

Working in close collaboration with customers, Wincanton tailor individual solutions to fit each unique set of requirements as opposed providing a one size fits all solution. It is by utilising this approach that Wincanton can ensure that the supply chain, a vital component of a customer’s business model, is managed in the most efficient and cost-effective way.

Adrian Colman, Wincanton CEO, said of the win: “To be awarded 3PL of the Year is a fantastic achievement for the whole Wincanton team. The award is a testament to the work we put in to developing truly collaborative and innovative supply chain solutions with our retail customers. Retail is a competitive market and we know our supply chain solutions are a vital part in ensuring customers can operate profitably in this quickly evolving marketplace.”

In an unprecedented move, the award was bestowed jointly on Wincanton and XPO to which Adrian commented, “We’d also like to extend our congratulations to XPO Logistics on being named jointly with us in this award. Although competitors in many instances, we enjoy a rewarding collaborative relationship with them in serving B&Q which continues to go from strength to strength.”
