Voiteq Spreads The Word at its Annual Voice User Group.

Voiteq, global providers of Voice-Directed Work solutions, hosted its seventh annual Voice User Group (VUG17) at The Belfry in Sutton Coldfield, on Tuesday 20th June. Attended by customers, future customers, partners and industry thought-leaders from around the world, the event is the largest of its kind and welcomed over 150 guests.

Taking on the theme ‘Spread The Word’, delegates heard from customers such as Sainsbury’s, XPO, McCormick & Co, and Amscan; discussing topics on Improving Colleague Morale, Multi-order Picking and Managing International Operations with Voiteq Voice.

“Our user group is a firm fixture in our customers’ calendars and has gained a great reputation for its valuable content and networking opportunities,” remarked Isabel McCabe, managing director for Voiteq Ltd. “This year was more interactive than ever and bursting with innovation. We strive to help our customers gain even more value from their Voiteq voice solution and we pride ourselves on delivering a best-in-class service. Events like this are one of the many ways we stay close to the needs of our customers.”

Hot on many agendas, the importance of data in the modern supply chain was debated by panellists from Littlehampton Books, Yearsley and Tokema International. Areas such as data integrity and real-time data availability on mobile devices as well as the growing take-up of predictive analytics were discussed.

Keynote Speaker Peter MacLeod, previously editor of SHD Logistics Magazine, shared insights on how technology trends that were once a pipeline dream 50 years ago are now very much a reality in the 21st century. This included concepts such as ‘Uberization’ of Deliveries, Flying Mailmen and Drones.

Voiteq’s CEO, David Stanhope, gave his view on possible areas of evolution for voice-directed working, where voice is heading and its interaction with other technologies such as vision goggles and machine learning.

Delegates also heard updates on Voiteq’s future roadmap as well as how to get more out of their existing voice installation. The VoiceMan Returns Module was a key highlight as well as hearing from Platinum sponsor Honeywell on The Connected Supply Chain.

Using its event app – Voiteq IO – delegates could interact with sessions, ask questions, take part in polls and upvote other delegates’ questions in real-time. In addition, Voiteq’s demo zone was bigger than ever before, offering hands-on demos of its own solutions portfolio including VoiceMan Data Analysis and VoiceMan Returns as well as those from sponsors Honeywell, Balea, Cirrus Logistics, EXDS, Neverfail, TCi and Zebra.
