VMS Fleet Management expands into South Wales with a new Bridgend-based depot

15 March, 21

This week, VMS Fleet Management has unveiled a new South Wales depot based in Bridgend offering an extended range of fleet management services, such as maintenance, MOT, workshop and body-shop, as well as local vehicle hire through VMS Vehicle Hire.

Adding to its existing portfolio of regional locations, VMS Fleet Management will utilise this Bridgend site to increase its service offering to its UK-wide network of clients. The depot opening has also created 10 new jobs in the local area with positions ranging from administration through to engineering. The site will also feature a MOT class 7 bay.

VMS Fleet Management currently operates in six sites across the UK including Stevenage, Tamworth, Tiverton, Sunderland, Warrington and Bathgate. This expansion is part of its planned growth drive of the network into Wales, after demand for fleet services in the area increased throughout 2020.

Formed in 2002, VMS has grown from offering accident and vehicle management, to providing a full range of contract hire and fleet management solutions, together with a wide range of support services. VMS currently operates in excess of 5000 vehicles in its overall fleet, with over 1000 vehicles in its rental fleet alone.

Martin James, Managing Director of VMS Fleet Management said:
“The Bridgend location is the perfect opportunity for us to help make our current service offering more accessible in the South West of the UK, where demand has been extremely high of late. Now we’re able to assure our customers that we can deal with their enquiry as expertly and efficiently as we can anywhere else in the UK. We have strong growth plans for the future and this new site will help us to effectively meet these plans.

“With the current pandemic it is fantastic to be able to offer some employment opportunities in the area when it’s most needed. We’re looking forward to developing the new team and can’t wait to start serving customers from the Bridgend area.”
