Second Think-A-Thon At Transport Logistic 2019.

Letting students with creative minds work on a problem and thus find new approaches to solutions: that is the basic idea of the think-a-thon concept. At transport logistic, which will take place from 4 to 7 June in Munich, more than 30 students from various European universities and colleges will be devoting themselves to an industry topic, developing ideas and presenting solutions on site. With logistics experts from a total of 2,360 exhibitors from all over the world who will be taking part in the most important trade fair for the industry, there will be plenty of opportunities for professional exchange.

The concept was developed a year ago for transport logistic in Shanghai by the PR agency Medienbüro am Reichstag, the internationally leading ULD service provider Jettainer and Messe München. This year, the circle was extended to include a number of companies that provide students with special professional support and, at the end of the day, award the prize for the best ideas together with the initiators.

The supporters of transport logistic think-a-thons 2019 include airport operator Fraport, the technology and service company Bosch, software developer Dakosy and refrigerated container specialist DoKaSch. The participating universities are the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences and Darmstadt Technical University. Other international students from the Erasmus program are also involved. The think-a-thon is part of the regular seminars.

“At the transport logistic think-a-thon, students with a well-founded knowledge of logistics meet problems of real-life business. The fair offers a unique opportunity to discuss and develop initial approaches with global experts. We are already very excited about the results,” says Dr. Robert Schönberger, Project Manager for the transport logistic Cluster at Messe München.

“We were already present in Shanghai with our partner university, Tongji University, and are now very happy to participate again. For the students, this is a first-class opportunity to apply their knowledge in a creative way and at the same time get in direct contact with leading logistics companies,” says Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Hans-Christian Pfohl from the Technical University of Darmstadt.

A think tank for the students will be set up at the trade fair in Hall B2. The transport logistic think-a-thon will start on 4 June, the first day of the fair, at 12.30 noon at start.hub, also in Hall B2. Only then will the specific topic for the task be announced. Work will then be carried out in six groups of 5. On Thursday, 6 June, the developed ideas will be presented there from 3.30 p.m. and the best result will be awarded a prize.
