Samskip Logistics and freight forwarding force DC Logistics Brasil have signed a national representation agreement that creates a new partnership seeking to grow the containerised business in Brazil.

The collaborative arrangement establishes a new structure within which Samskip Logistics will operate throughout Brazil, also building on the financial and corporate strengths of both organisations. With immediate effect, the DC Logistics Brasil office in Salvador is integrating the existing local Samskip technical team, taking over all business previously undertaken by Samskip Salvador. DC Logistics will support all future Samskip Logistics activities in Brazil via its 11 offices nationwide.

Founded in 1994, DC Logistics Brasil has over 200 employees and is recognized as a main player in the country’s freight forwarding industry. It offers a wide portfolio of forwarding and logistics services, with specific insights in developing freight opportunities related to fresh and frozen produce, textiles, wine, coffee, tyres and ceramics. For its part, Samskip Logistics has targeted refrigerated transport volumes as a specific area for growth.

“This partnership will benefit all Samskip Logistics customers in Brazil by combining our own years of experience and expertise in the market with the reach of our like-minded, high service quality partners at DC Logistics Brasil,” said Ásbjörn Gíslason, CEO of Samskip Logistics. “We look forward to further strengthening our presence in a market that continues to show considerable promise for Samskip Logistics, working together with the strong team at DC Logistics.”

“The DC Logistics Brasil & Samskip agreement enhances our companies’ strategies, to better serve our customers and guarantee the scalability necessary to provide the best solutions not only in Brazil, but worldwide. We are excited to start working with a remarkable company as Samskip, being sure it will reinforce both companies’ presence in our industry,” said Ivo A. Mafra, President of DC Logistics Brasil.
