RCS Logistics, a local third party logistics provider based in Corby at the heart of the UK logistics industry, has announced the appointment of their new Finance Director, Adrian Goodman. Adrian will be responsible for the Accounts department within the organisation and will be a valuable contributor to ongoing efforts to optimise processes and systems. The existing Finance Director, Phil Mitchell, will remain at RCS Logistics as a Director and as Chairman of the company.

Adrian began his financial training at Tresham College where he received his AAT and CIMA qualifications. He went on from there to start his career at RCI Europe in 1999 before moving to Nationwide Building Society as a Treasury Accountant in 2001. After a number of other progressive positions, and looking to shift his focus to SMEs, Adrian took the position of Group Management Accountant in 2009 at Thomas Sports Groups, until five years ago when he was appointed Finance Director at a local supplier of display and exhibition stands, before moving to RCS Logistics in February 2016.

With a particular interest in the automation of systems and total system integration, Adrian will help with the continuous process of optimising and streamlining RCS Logistics’ processes and systems which have been the focus of recent efforts.

With dedicated online portals where customers can place orders and monitor stock levels, as well as process transport and distribution requirements, the company already operates through a series of complex integrated systems, allowing their customers to access vast amounts of data whenever they wish. Adrian’s addition to the company will lead to all departments being fully integrated meaning their customers will receive an even higher level of service.

Adrian added, ‘‘If cash is the lifeblood of a business, information is the oxygen. My initial goal is to automate and streamline the finance systems at RCS Logistics to provide better quality data to the management team, enabling us to make more informed decisions and make them faster. RCS Logistics has some great systems and I’m very excited at the prospect of getting them to speak to each other.’’
