Picavi will once again be an exhibitor at the Enterprise Wearable Technology Summit (EWTS) in Austin/Texas this year. The event, which is being held on 9 – 11 October, attracts experts on all the topics related to data processing involving wearables. Johanna Bellenberg, Director of Marketing and Communications at Picavi, will chair a group discussion on hardware issues on the second day of the summit. This will feature discussion partners from renowned organisations and corporations like NASA, Gulfstream Aerospace and Deutsche Telekom.

“The North American market is of primary importance for us. The key features in the national economies in the United States and Canada include a huge interest in technology and a large number of logistics enterprises that are looking for innovations. We therefore plan to achieve strong growth with our Picavi smart glasses – and will do so,” says Johanna Bellenberg, adding her comments. “We want to shake up the internal logistics market here with our pick-by-vision solution.”

Picavi believes that the highly respected summit held at the Fairmont Hotel in Austin provides an ideal communications platform to talk about the latest trends with people who are interested in wearable technologies. Visitors to the specialist fair will be presented with examples of assisted reality, which have already become commonplace in business operations, like Picavi’s smart glasses, during the three days of the event.

Numerous lectures, forums and discussion sessions are also a major focus at the EWTS. Johanna Bellenberg will chair one panel discussion, which will concentrate on ideas for the best hardware for these kinds of wearable data processing systems, at 2 p.m. on 10 October. Larry Patterson, Director, Advanced Computing Technologies: HPC and Immersive Realities-VR/AR, Gulfstream Aerospace, Terry Schussler, Director, Immersive Technology, Deutsche Telekom, and Christopher Gerty, Informatics Subsystem Team Lead, Advanced EVA Development, NASA, will discuss the ergonomic design requirements for this kind of technology in this context.

“A high degree of wearing comfort is important to our customers and their warehouse workers too,” Johanna Bellenberg emphasises, with reference to the pick-by-vision solution provided by Picavi; more than 50 customers around the globe are already using the system. “When selecting the glasses, we pay attention to details like how much they weigh and how well they fit on the user’s head. Workers will only accept this innovative technology for their daily work if they feel comfortable with the smart glasses and are able to make use of all the strengths inherent in the ‘ecosystem’ to complete their picking work more quickly and make fewer errors.”

About Picavi GmbH
Picavi GmbH is an award-winning and well-recognised full-service provider with a 100 percent dedication of its intralogistics and wearable expertise to Pick-by-Vision solutions. By wearing smart glasses, a strict visual guidance through the complete picking process enables workers to maximise their productivity and minimise errors while working hands-free. Picavi is already being used by numerous logistics experts from a variety of sectors.

The German company is deeply rooted in the IT industry and in intralogistics. Picavi is an official Glass Partner, a Vuzix VIP Partner and connected to many other wearable providers, so the system works independently from the smart glass hardware. Clients worldwide can rely on a network of technology and sales partners such as DSA Systems Inc. in Northern America and WRH Global Australia for the Oceania region. Thanks to the many years of experience gained by DSA in the North American logistics market, Picavi is able to rely on a strong and competent partner, which efficiently implements and uses the pick-by-vision solution.

CEO Dirk Franke has over two decades of experience in the development and sale of software systems for paperless order picking. Alexander Voss, professor of applied informatics in Aachen, supports strategic product development and software quality assurance at Picavi as a consulting shareholder. A wide network of service, integration, technology and sales partners provides additional expertise.

Thanks to its practicality, the pick-by-vision solution was also awarded the IT Innovation Prize in the industry & logistics category by the Initiative Mittelstand association in 2016. In the same year, the IT and logistics specialist was one of three companies to be awarded the “Hidden Champion” prize in the “Vision” category by German news broadcaster n-tv.
