Palletline Whitehead secures FORS bronze status

Palletline Whitehead has secured FORS bronze accreditation after adhering to the FORS standard which emphasises the company’s commitment to fleet and driving safety, their environmental impact as well as to improving operational efficiency.

Based in Croydon, the company was originally part of PF Whitehead Logistics’ until Palletline acquired PF Whitehead’s overnight delivery business in March of this year.

Since then, the company has enjoyed significant growth.

FORS is an accreditation-led scheme for fleet operators who strive for first-class efficiency as well as best practice in both safety and environmental protection.

In order to comply with the standard’s criteria, Palletline Whitehead had to ensure that its vehicles are fitted with the necessary safety equipment to protect vulnerable road users – as well as carrying out comprehensive risk assessments and certifying that their drivers are sufficiently trained.

Achieving a bronze accreditation by FORS ensures Palletline Whitehead is compliant with the latest legislation from TFL, which currently requires every vehicle in the city weighing more than 3.5 tonnes to be fitted with: Class V and Class VI mirrors that give drivers a broader view of both pedestrians and cyclists around their vehicle.

Servicing the South London postcode areas of CR, SM and partial KT, Palletline Whitehead operates independently, employing a team of 16 staff and has invested in a new fleet of nine DAF cabs and trailers which are DVS and FORS Bronze compliant.

Paul Elson, Managing Director, Palletline Logistics, commented: “We are delighted Palletline Whitehead has been successful in achieving FORS Bronze accreditation. As a business, we are totally committed to ensuring driver safety and to improving our environmental footprint.

“Working to FORS accreditation will also allow us to extend our reach into London and continue delivering optimal customer service to our customer base within the city and throughout the UK.”
