Onward Holdings delivers good hope to the logistics sector

Onward Holdings Ltd is making available to lease another high-quality warehouse located in the heart of Yorkshire. Onward Holdings, one of the leading industrial space providers in the region, is in the process of extensively refurbishing a 61,000sqft multi-purpose distribution/industrial facility on Good Hope Close on the Normanton Industrial Estate within less than a mile from Junction 31 of the M62 motorway. Improvements include new roof, floors and exterior cladding.

The property will be ready for occupation in summer and benefits from a significant 2 MVA electricity supply, which is ideal for either the region’s revitalised manufacturing sector or alternatively to serve e-commerce and distribution occupiers for potential EV points. The unique building is of a single span construction with no internal columns, which enables the utilisation of the internal storage space to its maximum. It sits on a generous plot with a large concrete service yard and parking provision as well as a maximum internal apex height of 11 metres.

With a focus on sustainability, the steel in the original building on Good Hope Close has been reused for the extensive upgrade, which also features modernised offices. The unit is an ideal gateway to UK markets for a variety of sectors, such as e-commerce, urban logistics, distribution, food, general manufacturing, parcel carriers, high end goods and packaging.

Adding Good Hope Close to its portfolio follows the family-run commercial property specialist recently agreeing a 10-year lease with Yusen Logistics for its refurbished warehouse at the Cross Green Industrial Estate in Leeds.

Upgrading facilities located within easy reach of transport networks is a hallmark of Onward Holdings: creating high quality, modern dedicated warehousing with offices which are snapped up as soon as they go on the market.

Director Neil Storey, says: “With the possibility of further supply chain disruption in 2022 due to a shortage of suitable industrial space to meet growing demand fuelled by the surge in online shopping, we’re delighted to offer another quality warehouse to the market. We’re also actively looking for further opportunities for development in Yorkshire to add to our portfolio.”
Steven Jones MRICS, Logistics & Industrial Director and agent for the vendor added: “This is a deal that’s been some time in the making but it’s definitely been worth waiting for. It will help to fulfil the need in the region for high quality, well-positioned warehousing.”

Along with logistics facilities for storage and distributing across Yorkshire, Onward Holdings also supplies value-added services, including 3PL managed warehousing, Pallet Storage, Container Emptying, Order Picking and Reworking – all controlled by its Managed Warehouse System. Suitable for both durable cargo and ambient food storage, long and short-term leases are available.

Operating high quality industrial warehousing, Onward Holdings’ sites include Castleford, Doncaster, Ackworth, Scunthorpe and Featherstone. The company also built Onyx Retail Park, the successful shopping and eating destination on the former Manvers colliery in South Yorkshire.

Promotion of the unit on Good Hope Close is handled by Andrew Miller Chartered Surveyors of Sheffield and Iain McPhail, head of Knight Frank’s industrial and Logistics team in Leeds. For further information please contact Andrew on 0114 236 2340 or Iain on 0113 297 1843.
