One World Express becomes authorised economic operator

One World Express has become an Authorised Economic Operator (AEO), ensuring its goods can pass through customs as quickly as possible.

Founded in 1998, UK-based logistics firm One World Express provides shipping solutions for merchants, eCommerce firms and marketplaces around the globe.

The company has now achieved AEO certification for Customs Simplification (AEOC) courtesy of HMRC. It is an internationally recognised mark of quality underlining its ‘trusted trader’ status.

As an AEOC, One World Express is granted greater access to faster application process for customs clearance and guarantee waivers of deferment. The company will also benefit a lower risk score, which could reduce the number of customs checks needed on goods being imported or exported.

The news comes as Brexit has added further cost and complexity for firms shipping goods between the UK and European Union (EU).

Atul Bhakta, CEO of One World Express, said: “We are delighted to achieve AEOC certification. It is a real mark of quality – one that demonstrates to clients that One World Express is an experienced, trusted partner to handle their cross-border shipping.

“The timing is crucial. Brexit has inevitably resulted in supply chain disruption, not to mention more paperwork, complications and higher prices when businesses are sending goods between the UK and EU. However, as an AEO, One World Express can provide even quicker, easier and safer cross-border shipping solutions. It is sure to help the company go from strength to strength in 2021 and beyond.”
