Diamond Phoenix Automation, supplier of material handling and picking solutions, has appointed Matt Williamson as its new Sales Director.

Having spent over 25 years in industry – much of it in the material handling sector – Matt Williamson brings a wealth of experience and excellent connections to his new role. After gaining a BSc in Business Development and Engineering, Matt worked in increasingly senior roles in sales and business development within the conveyor systems and wider industrial automation market – from component manufacture to fully integrated turnkey solutions – for brands including Buttimer Engineering, FMH Conveyors, Sovex and Interroll.

“We are delighted that Matt is joining our team,” commented Keith Washington, Managing Director for Diamond Phoenix. “Having worked for UK, European, US and Australian organisations, he has global experience in solving challenging automation projects, from handling toys to tyres and from potash to parcels. He also brings a range of other skills – including marketing and project implementation – that will make him a great asset for our company.”

Matt Williamson is looking forward to this new stage of his career.

“As well as generating more sales and transforming performance for clients, I am keen to see how I can enhance internal processes to strengthen Diamond Phoenix Automation,” he said. “I believe that people are the most important asset of any business. I’m passionate about personal development and the power of coaching, mentoring and organisational culture in achieving success in business.”

Outside of work, Matt enjoys running, playing squash and racquetball and spending time with his family and dog.
