Glasgow-based Monarch Transport has strengthened its fleet with a new Scania G450 XT crane truck – the first to be put into operation for the logistics business.

The new truck, customised and supplied by MV Commercial, has been fitted with a HIAB X-HiPro 658 crane and will be used across the company’s various operations, including event equipment supply, construction site work and general haulage.

John Weir, Company Director, Monarch Transport, says: “Over the past two years we’ve been lucky enough to expand our business, we’ve seen an increase in demand in the construction industry and events are beginning to pick up again. Because of this, we chose to add our very first crane truck to the fleet. This was an important decision for us, and MV Commercial provided us with the exact vehicle that we wanted and provided invaluable support across the whole deal process.

“We’ve had several vehicles from MV Commercial, and all previous assets we received from them have performed outstandingly. The relationship we have with the team and the service that we receive is second to none, so for us, it was a logical choice to return to them for this order.”

MV Commercial supplied Monarch Transport with the truck from its Ready to Go fleet – a series of specialist vehicles designed to anticipate upcoming market trends and provide operators with quality equipment in rapid time.

Steven Cairns, Managing Director of MV Commercial, says: “We are delighted to support Monarch Transport with the supply of its first specialist crane truck. Demand for construction-based assets has reached peak levels as the industry bounces back from the challenges of 2020.”

While out on the road, Monarch Transport can also call on MV Commercial’s nationwide support network, with more than 20 approved workshops across the UK and Ireland.

Monarch Transport, established in 1989, provides tailored logistics services across the UK and Europe from one-off pallets to multinational contracts. Its fleet is accredited under the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) Bronze standard. This gives its customers the confidence that it is achieving exemplary levels of best practice in safety, efficiency and environmental protection, including managing its work-related road risk.
