Isuzu continues long association with The Rockery Centre

Longevity and payload, combined with proven reliability, are the main reasons behind The Rockery Centre specifying Isuzus for its delivery vehicles. Its latest Isuzu 7.5 tonne dropside rigid is joining a fleet of vehicles that still includes the company’s very first 08 registered Isuzu truck that has now completed over 13 years of uninterrupted service at the Bedfordshire-based company.

“The arrival of the new Isuzu does mean that, sadly, our original Isuzu is now going into semi-retirement and will probably only be used as backup for busy times. Its unbelievable service over 13 years is why in 2021 we are still only using Isuzu for our delivery vehicles,” said Matt Lansley, from The Rockery Centre.

Matt continues, ”Isuzus just get better and better with age, and specification-wise they have come on such a long way since our very first one. The latest 7.5 tonne 2021 specification ticks all our boxes, from its unbelievable carrying capacity of 3.2 tonne, right through to its compact footprint, which makes it ideal for residential deliveries especially on the smaller housing estates where access is limited.”

Supplied by local Isuzu truck dealer Arlesey Car and Commercial, the Isuzu N75.150 (E) medium wheel base rigid has a Searle dropside body and a rear mounted Fassi F50A crane for the loading and unloading of heavy bulky materials.

“Throughout the acquisition the team at Arlesey were excellent and played a major role in working with the local bodybuilder to ensure that the final truck specification met our requirements. The latest cab on this truck is incredibly comfortable and spacious, with an excellent driving position, which is appreciated by our drivers. So far, the truck is working really well and proving to be a valuable addition to our fleet,” said Matt Lansley.

The Rockery Centre is based in Sandy, Bedfordshire and is a family business established over 30 years providing landscape supplies, stone, and garden products to customers throughout the Home Counties.

“The Rockery Centre is one of many companies that have been with us on the Isuzu journey for a long, long time. The reputation of the Isuzu truck range, in terms of reliability, payload and performance, is 2nd to none and is one of the main reasons behind the success of the company here in the UK. We look forward to seeing this latest Isuzu performing well for The Rockery Centre for as long as their first truck has done,” said Richard Waterworth, head of sales, Isuzu Truck UK.
