Isuzu bowls customer over with amazing tipper payload

2 December, 20

Achieving a payload of more than four tonne was the standout reason behind Bowland Stone acquiring its latest Isuzu 7.5 tonne rigid tipper truck this month. This is the third Isuzu added to the Bowland fleet over the last two years, following on from previously supplied 11 tonne and 3.5 tonne Isuzu tippers.

With a history of running Isuzus going back to 2008 when it purchased its first Isuzu 7.5 tonner, Bowland Stone were recently in the market for a new 7.5 tonne truck with an aluminium tipper body, and the proven payload and reliability of these previous Isuzus has led to this new N75.150 Isuzu joining the Bowland fleet.

“Having operated Isuzus for over 12 years, we were fully aware that they have a distinct payload advantage over their competitors. However, with this latest 2020 model, we were completely bowled over by its unbelievable four tonne payload capacity. We do not think that any other truck manufacturer could give us such a load potential at this GVW, “said Ian Elston, director, Bowland Stone Group.

Bowland Stone will be running this latest Isuzu out of its main head office branch in Bristol, delivering loose aggregate, ready mixed concrete, and floor screed to customers in and around the Bristol and Avon area. In fact, all three of the most recent Isuzus are now operating out of this Bristol depot, with each truck having been supplied by local Isuzu Truck dealer AK Commercials.

“We always buy our Isuzus from Kevin at AK Commercials, who knows how our fleet operates and he was instrumental in ensuring that the aluminium tipper body specification gave us the maximum payload possible. However, AK also service all our vehicles, and provide us with an excellent one-stop shop support facility to our fleet,” commented Ian Elston.

Bowland Stone tends to have a long-term operating policy with its vehicles and the reliability of its first ever Isuzu bought in 2008 led to it running in their fleet for over 12 years, giving the company steady, reliable service all through that time.

Ian continues, “As we operate the Isuzus primarily within the Bristol area, the compact footprint of the trucks, matched to the Easyshift automatic gearbox, has proved to be a really popular combination with our drivers, especially when operating within the tight streets of the Bristol conurbation.”

Bowland Stone Group is a family run business established over 25 years ago and operating through locations in Bristol in the south-west, and Macclesfield in the north-west. The company currently operates a 15 strong commercial vehicle fleet making daily deliveries to customers from each of the depots on a 6 day a week delivery cycle.

“With over 12 years proven operational experience of running Isuzus, Bowland Stone are one of many companies within the building and construction industry who have benefited from the proven payload and reliability that is inherent within the whole Isuzu truck range. The ‘on the road’ payload they have achieved from this latest Isuzu is amazing and will certainly provide Bowland with a really quick return on its investment,” said Richard Waterworth, head of sales, Isuzu Truck UK
