Isuzu blows in the right direction for 4 Winds

Ever since Cornish repair and recovery company 4 Winds Garage took its first Isuzu truck back in 2018, the company has increased the Isuzu presence in its fleet each year. They now operate five Isuzu recovery trucks in total and the latest addition to the 4 Winds fleet is an Isuzu N75.190 crew cab chassis, fitted with an aluminium slide bed body manufactured by J&J Conversions.

Based in Newquay, 4 Winds Garages now runs a range of different Isuzu recovery trucks including twin deck bodies, powerlifts, and day cab slide beds, as well as the latest crew cab slide beds. These Isuzus form part of a 30 strong vehicle fleet at 4 Winds Garages that provide service, repair and recovery of cars and vans both in the south-west and nationwide.

“We work all our recovery trucks really hard 7 days a week and over the past 2 years, none of the Isuzus have ever let us down. Their reliability is really good and that’s why we have started to add even more of them to our fleet,’ said Dave Henwood, director, 4 Winds Garages.

All the Isuzus work on a seven-day per week recovery operation and each vehicle will cover over 500,000 miles during their 10-year working life with the company.

“Not only are they a good reliable truck for us as a business, but all the drivers also really enjoy driving them. In addition, the support we get for service and parts from SW Commercials in Redruth, our local dealer here in the South West, is extremely good. With Isuzu, the whole package we get is first class and matches our requirements,” added Dave.

Fourwinds Garage is a family run business, established in 1988, specialising in recovery and roadside repairs as well as a wide range of car services from MOTs and engine diagnostics to van repairs and servicing. Its fleet of recovery trucks works closely with the AA, Green Flag and Britannia Rescue.

“The recovery industry has been very close to the heartbeat of Isuzu Truck from our very first beginnings many years ago and it’s an industry that we continue to have a very close bond with, as our trucks are ideally matched to the demanding environment in which they have to operate. It’s reassuring to see the development of the Isuzu trucks within the fleet here at 4 Winds Garages and I know that they will be working extremely hard for the company over the next 10 years,” said Richard Waterworth, head of sales, Isuzu Truck UK.
