Ingersoll Rand Transport Solutions launched to innovate the fuel transportation market

10 September, 21

Air compressor and fluid power specialist Ingersoll Rand has launched Ingersoll Rand Transport Solutions (IRTS), focused on the development of vehicle-mounted transport solutions and fuel systems for the fuel transportation market.

The new initiative follows the merger of Ingersoll Rand and Gardner Denver, which completed in March 2020. IRTS will act as an umbrella organisation for four respected global brands; Gardner Denver Transport Solutions, GHH RAND®, EMCO Wheaton Fuel Systems and TODO. While the strategic brands will retain their own identity and markets, IRTS will be positioned across them all, feeding innovation, capital, and global opportunities at scale, through a sustainable market approach.

Paul Pearson, Business Line Director EMEIA and Asia, Ingersoll Rand Transport Solutions, said of the new business: “IRTS has been formed to help our business focus on innovation specifically within the alternative fuel transportation segment. The entire industry is undergoing a period of unprecedented change as we migrate from fossil fuels to alternative energy sources. This brings fresh new challenges for our customers who need a partner to guide them through this new landscape.”

“Through Gardner Denver Transport Solutions, GHH RAND, EMCO Wheaton and TODO, IRTS adopts a heritage of innovation. Our long-term strategy is to further this legacy and continue to design and develop innovative bulk and liquid transfer solutions, electrified compressor packages, fuel systems and dry break couplers which help our customers overcome their sustainability, new mobility, and market challenges.”

IRTS embraces Gardner Denver’s bulk and liquid transfer solutions and electric compressors, EMCO Wheaton’s road tanker equipment and fleet fuelling systems, TODOs dry break couplers, and GHH RAND’s bulk compressor tanker solutions. The company will focus on further innovating and developing the portfolios of its four strategic brands, helping our customers to embrace more sustainable transportation solutions.

IRTS has been established on three critical service pillars: innovation, collaboration, and scale. Through accessing the research and development capabilities of Ingersoll Rand, together with its strong capital and global reach, it is expected that the four strategic brands will continue to grow their individual market shares and work more closely with businesses to develop custom-engineered transport solutions.

Paul Pearson explained that growth remains on the agenda for IRTS.

He commented: “With IRTS we have a unique opportunity to position our strategic brands at the forefront of sustainable transportation solutions. Our design and engineering expertise is already playing a key role in fuelling smarter, safer transportation for millions of people around the world, and through the combined expertise, experience, and skills of our strategic brands, we can heighten innovation even further to develop cutting-edge hydrogen, liquefied natural gas and alternative energy solutions that help reduce vehicle lifecycle costs and contribute to improved sustainability.”
