Over 50 international industry trade associations, UK Government departments and the Devolved Administrations have so far either signed up or confirmed they will sign up as Supporting Organisations of London International Shipping Week 2019 (LISW19).
The move is significant so soon into the start of the campaign for the next LISW and is further proof that world shipping considers London International Shipping Week as the ‘must attend’ event in the global maritime calendar.
Listed among those Supporting Organisations that have so far confirmed include major ship owner, ship broking, legal and port associations as well as UK Government departments and the Devolved Administrations.
John Hulmes, Chairman of the LISW19 Steering Group, welcomed the news, describing it as a massive vote of support for LISW from both international industry and Government.
“LISW succeeds in bringing decision makers from global shipping together to debate key issues facing the industry. Over 160 official events were held during the last LISW in 2017 and there is every expectation that this figure will be passed in 2019,” he said.
The date of London International Shipping Week 2019 has been announced as the week of September 9 to 13, 2019.
