ICS announces conference sponsors.

The International Chamber of Shipping is delighted to announce the sponsors for this year’s International Shipping Conference, to be held at the British Library on Wednesday 7 September.

Videotel, part of KVH Industries, Inc., the market leading provider of STCW approved training films, computer-based training, and maritime e-Learning courses for the shipping industry will be supporting the evening event.

The Bahamas Maritime Authority (BMA) and the Bahamas Shipowners’ Association (BSA) will be sponsoring the daytime hospitality. The BMA is one of the world’s largest Registers with over 50 million gt of ships flying the Bahamas flag, while the BSA represents the interests of Bahamas’ shipowners globally.

Keynote speakers at the International Shipping Conference include Kitak Lim, Secretary-General, IMO; Ian Parry, Principal Environmental Fiscal Policy Expert, International Monetary Fund (IMF); and Esben Poulsson, new Chairman of ICS.

High level topics to be covered at the event include: reducing CO2 emissions;  the challenges of the Ballast Water Convention; EU Brexit; over-capacity in the shipping industry; seafarer supply issues; tackling corruption; shipowner liability; and the NATO response to piracy and refugees.
