With 42 days to go until the end of the Transition Period before the UK leaves the EU, logistics businesses are working hard to prepare for the new trading relationship. To provide up to the minute information about the political situation, and guidance for those businesses trading with the EU, The Rt Hon Michael Gove MP, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster has today (20 November 2020) been announced as the keynote speaker at Logistics UK’s upcoming “Get Ready for Brexit” virtual conference.
To be held on a state-of-the-art online platform, the half day event on 25 November 2020 will help hauliers understand what they need to do to be ready to operate effectively from 1 January 2021. In addition to Mr Gove’s keynote speech, speakers at the event will provide practical advice on all the key issues which could affect hauliers moving goods to and from Europe via a combination of presentations, panel sessions and group discussion. These will include customs controls and procedures, GVMS and other new IT systems, traffic management in Kent, and trade to and from GB and Northern Ireland.
