Next week sees the return of FTA’s Fleet Engineer Conference on 11 June 2019, the must attend event for engineers working across the freight and logistics sector. In addition to a packed programme of expert speakers, delegates will have the opportunity for a one-to-one interactive session with DVSA experts to understand their new roadside enforcement and testing apps.
Sponsored by Continental Tyres and Schmitz Cargobull, the conference will take place at the National Agriculture and Exhibition Centre (NAEC), Stoneleigh, Warwickshire. It is aimed at anyone with responsibility for commercial vehicle engineering, offering practical help to enable engineers to better manage their fleet during the next year and beyond. The key focus will be the advancement of vehicle technology and ensuring that engineers are prepared so they can maintain their fleets in a fully compliant condition, as is their legal commitment.
In addition to the presentation by DVSA, The enforcement of compliance, delegates will have the chance to see some of the agency’s enforcement vehicles up close; also available is the opportunity for an interactive demonstration of the new enforcement and testing apps. This includes the updated system used to access roadside information on operators, their vehicles and OCRS (Operator Compliance Risk Score) status, in addition to the new testing system which allows DVSA Vehicle Standards Assessors to obtain the vehicle technical details and to capture and record defects.
FTA’s Head of Engineering & Vehicle Standards Policy, Phil Lloyd, who will be chairing the conference, said:
