Forward reveals further growth

Following continued expansion, prominent transport technology firm Forward Solutions is again adding to its team.

Already this year the company has seen a 15 percent growth in new business as increasingly the logistics and transport industry looks to utilise new technology to power up supply chain delivery.

To support this continued growth, Forward Solutions has boosted its recruitment with three new starters joining the team across support, infrastructure and a brand-new role of Project Co-ordinator. This follows the appointment of two new Customer Success Managers in recent months.

Investment in IT by freight and transport operators has heightened since the pandemic, as businesses look to new technology to streamline their operations and communicate more effectively with customers.

Forward Solutions is seeing growth exceed predicated international trends which show that globally IT spending is projected to increase by 5.1 per cent this year, according to the latest forecast by Gartner, Inc.

According to Richard Litchfield, Managing Director at Forward Solutions the freight industry is leaning more and more on technologies with better visibility and resiliency. “The logistics sector is responding to changed expectations by making the full and best use of the latest technology. This provides a real opportunity to make major advances in the way our industry utilises digital innovations. ‘Digital fitness’ as it was described in PWC’s report “The Future of the Logistics Industry” will be the marker for success in the sector.

“There are many more opportunities for tech to improve productivity across the entire supply chain to reduce costs and errors.”

With the massive and continued sector growth in technologies, Forward Solutions is investing to support its customer this includes the development of a new user interface (UI) which is about to be launched. The firm has invested £3/4 million and 3,000-working hours in the development of this new technology – Forward’s most significant single investment to date – to ensure that its software is fully intuitive and easy to use.
