Impulse Logic, a retail technology business with market-leading artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) solutions, has today announced it is expanding its UK team with the appointment of Alastair Hill as Implementation Manager.

Alastair joins the company with more than a decade of retail and project management experience. Prior to joining Impulse Logic, he spent 10 years at leading grocery retailer Waitrose. He was also Divisional Operations Manager at Specsavers, and Head of Strategy, Diversity and Inclusion at the UK Home Office.

As Implementation Manager at Impulse Logic, Alastair will be responsible for managing the roll-out of the company’s game-changing Store Inventory Management solution to its existing and new clients. He joins fellow UK retail industry veterans, Matthew Frost and Dorian Nicholas, who were appointed in 2021 as CEO and CFO respectively, illustrating the company’s ambitious growth plans on both sides of the Atlantic.

With an innovative suite of products that enable retailers to improve their labour availability, Impulse Logic is helping retailers to minimise out of stocks and improve product availability using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The solution is designed to read in-store data every two seconds, ensuring that associates can make decisions based on accurate insights so local stores can deliver outstanding customer service and satisfaction.

Retailers do not need to make any changes to their legacy systems when deploying Impulse Logic’s technology which means the initial investment costs can be controlled. Furthermore, by simply accessing existing data streams it can intelligently reallocate labour resources to increase revenue and operating profit.

Matthew Frost, CEO of Impulse Logic, commented:

“We’re delighted to welcome Alastair to the Impulse Logic family to help us grow the company and ensure the smooth roll-out of our Store Inventory Management solution in stores across the UK and Middle East. Alastair’s invaluable experience in the retail sector means he has a unique perspective of the retail landscape and a first-hand understanding of the challenges store managers face. This will no doubt play an important role as we work with retailers to optimise labour and product availability, reduce waste and increase profits.”

Alastair Hill, Implementation Manager of Impulse Logic, added:

“The advanced predictive analytics that Impulse Logic is enabling retailers to access has the potential to create the optimal product flow through the store, driving efficiencies both in the warehouse and on the shop floor. I can’t wait to get started and look forward to working with retailers across Europe and the Middle East to transform availability in the retail landscape.”
