Europa Road reveals expansion to boost market share. North, West & East

17 January, 22

Pioneering logistics operator Europa Worldwide Group has announced a half million-pound investment to increase its UK European road freight sales network delivered through Europa Road.

The operator is expanding from 13 to 16 local sales branch sites. The new locations will extend Europa Road’s footprint and fill geographic gaps across the North, East, and West between its existing sites.

This is a 23 per cent increase in its sales network, and the new sites will be in Cambridge, Liverpool and Cardiff and are the first new branch sites since Europa successfully opened in Belfast three years ago.

This investment is part of Europa Road’s strategic growth plan announced by its new Branch Network and Sales Director, Adrian Redmile whose ambition is to grow Europa’s European road freight division.

Adrian Redmile, Branch Network and Sales Director comments: “It’s an extremely exciting time for Europa. Our strategy is to deliver excellent customer service via locally managed channels putting our products and services at the heart of the region we are servicing. Enhancing our sales network is an important part of our national strategy to fill the gaps and thus increase our footprint across the country.”

These new sites are due to open on 1 May and will enable the firm to maximise its services to meet growing customer demand for both import and export – specifically on its pan European daily services.

Europa has identified market grow opportunities, having spent a substantial about of time researching suitable locations. Liverpool, Cardiff and Cambridge are all economically strong, growing cities and areas, with locations such as Cambridge specifically being an international hub of innovative businesses which generates £23.7 billion of national output.

Adrian added: “Our consultative approach to business is central to our expansion plans. Having branches in these areas will allow us to support local businesses to reduce admin and cost from the supply chain, while improving transit times. All of which have been effected post Brexit and after the removal of UK Easements. We see real growth potential in these areas.”

The new sites are part of Adrian’s ongoing project to increase its network coverage across the UK. The division is already increasing the head count of its sales team (Road Sales Account Managers) by 30 by next spring (currently there are 50), this excludes recruitment for the new sites. The additional resource will allow Europa to onboard new clients at a faster rate which is required due to the increasing demand for the Europa Flow product.

Europa Road has gone from strength to strength, during the COVID-19 pandemic it offered uninterrupted services. Volumes have continued to increase and the launch of Europa’s innovative DDP solution to Brexit ‘Europa Flow’ consignment volumes are growing significantly.

The last few years has been one of major investment and growth for Europa Road which has seen Europa Road invest over £5m in Europa Flow – which successfully allows goods to move quickly and efficiently between the UK and EU with minimal delays.

Europa Worldwide Group is an ambitious independent logistics operator with six divisions – Europa Road, Europa Air & Sea, Europa Warehouse, Europa Contact Centre and Continental Cargo Carriers. Europa was recently featured in The Sunday Times Top Track 250 for the third time and employs over 1,100 across the UK and Hong Kong.
