Europa Road, which launched its frictionless trade product Europa Flow is reporting that 85 per cent of its European Road freight customers have now signed up for the service.

Europa Road launched the customs product to preserve transit times and the flow of goods between the UK and Europe after the Brexit transition period comes to an end on 31st December.

Europa Road is the European Road transport division of pioneering logistics operator Europa Worldwide Group.

Europa Flow – which was launched in September after 12 months development is the only product available in the UK which will facilitate exports to the EU on DDP terms – removing the hassle of customs from your EU customers, the need for them to appoint a customs broker or pay duties on import and allowing them to zero rate the VAT on import.

DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) is the incoterm to select if you wish to make your EU customers’ lives easier. The seller takes total responsibility for the export and import formalities, transport, duties and taxes – meaning that the buyer doesn’t need to worry about managing any of those things. This removes barriers to trade – making it just as easy for the EU customer to buy from the UK exporter as it is today.

To deliver the service Europa has created a strategically located customs brokerage business known as ‘Frictionless Trade Services’ with facilities in Calais, France as well as Oostende in Belgium. In addition to the UK team in Dartford. These operations will manage export and import declarations and all of the associated work required to facilitate the product.

Implementation of the new product with customers is led by Europa Road Sales Director Dionne Redpath who added “Customers have been hugely receptive, with 70 per cent of our exporting clients choosing to use Europa Flow, as they are looking for a simple solution for export and import to preserve the flow of goods.

“By using this product our customers are in the strongest position, we have devised a solution to keep goods moving without friction and makes buying from the UK after 1st January the most straightforward it can be.

“As the question of deal or no deal continues, customers can be assured that Europa Flow works in either set of circumstances, giving customers the peace of mind that they’ve taken all of the necessary steps possible to keeping their goods flowing.”

This is the latest in a series of investments Europa has made since the EU referendum to ensure the business and its customers are ready. Last year Europa invested over £2m in its Dartford transit warehouse to increase racking capacity by 75 per cent, as well as spending a further £2m on creating solutions.

Operating the UK’s largest European groupage hub. Europa Road’s network of 13 UK branches trunk into Europa’s Dartford 1Hub, from where freight connects with daily, direct services to 30 continental hubs. Each month Europa transports over 45,000 consignments through its road network, making over 2,000 collections and deliveries every day.

Europa Worldwide Group has six divisions – Europa Road, Europa Air & Sea, Europa Showfreight, Europa Warehouse, Europa Contact Centre and Continental Cargo Carriers and has featured in The Sunday Times Top Track 250 for the last three years. Europa recently revealed its results for year-ending 31st December 2019, showing another 16.5% growth with a record turnover of £205million, the company employs over 1000 staff.
