Europa Air & Sea announce recruitment drive

11 February, 21

Despite what has been a turbulent past 12 months for the air and sea freight industry, Europa Air & Sea is defying market challenges by making a substantial investment.

Determined to drive its business forward, the team has announced a recruitment drive, with plans to bring on board an additional three new Business Development Managers (BDMs) in the first quarter of the year.

A division of leading logistics firm, Europa Worldwide Group, the Air & Sea team has already filled two positions, with new BDMs appointed to its (Minworth) Birmingham and Leeds branches. Now, the division is looking to appoint a third BDM for its Dartford based branch, all of whom will support the wider team on driving business opportunities with new and existing clients.

From rising shipping rates to container shortages and extended transit times, Angus Hind, Air & Sea Director explains why they have taken the approach to invest in their team.

Angus said: “I think it’s fair to say that as with many other air and sea freight companies we are still managing the impact of the ongoing pandemic. Our strategy is to invest in our people to ensure we are driving business opportunities forward.

“We believe having a strong sales team in place is the best way forward. Our aim is to continue to build on our current team, placing an Air & Sea BDM in each of our 13 Europa sales offices across the country. This aligns with our strategy to continue focusing on the growth and development of the team.”

Since launching as a separate division in 2015, Europa Air & Sea has gone from strength to strength. Currently the division has a team of 45 individuals, located across the UK and a designated office in Hong Kong. Just last year the division announced an increase of turnover from £15m to £35m since launching, showing significant growth.

Europa Air & Sea ensures that every customer is provided with the most suitable options for their supply chain, depending on their unique requirements. The division is focusing on minimising the impact of the virus to its customers by offering continued high levels of service in all sectors.

Europa Worldwide Group has six divisions – Road, Air & Sea, Showfreight, Warehouse, Contact Centre and Continental Cargo Carriers and has featured in The Sunday Times Top Track 250 for three years running. The pioneering logistics firm recently celebrated its 1000th employee and continues to grow. Despite the pandemic all divisions are still open for business and operating as normal, at locations across the country.
