The new exclusive partnership with Freiburg-based, Streck Transport is important for Davies Turner as it further increases the leading independent UK freight forwarder’s already sizeable portfolio of scheduled overland trailer services with Germany.
Davies Turner beat off strong competition from a number of other forwarding companies based in the UK to secure the exclusive freight forwarding cooperation agreement with Streck, which had been left without a British partner following the ending of its relationship with its former associate.
The two companies now operate daily overland trailer services between the state of Baden-Württemberg in South West Germany and the UK, initially direct into Davies Turner’s regional distribution hubs at Dartford and Coleshill.
Streck Transport is a privately-owned well-established forwarding and logistics group founded in 1946, employing 1,200 staff and with a network across Europe’s largest economy. Its international trailer services are primarily focussed on the south west of the country.
Philip Stephenson, chairman of Davies Turner says that whilst the European road freight market has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic, overall market forecasts mask significant variations across geographies and regions.

Both Davies Turner and Streck Transport are members of System Alliance Europe, as are two of Davies Turner’s other three partners in Germany.
