SHIPSTA, the data-driven platform transforming logistics procurement, has seen a quarterly rise of 250% in spot freight transactions on its online spot freight marketplace www.ShipstaGO.com as the shipping crisis forces businesses to seek alternative carriers and freight forwarders. Shipsta has also now added road freight and is offering free access to help shippers rapidly source, compare and award multi-modal spot freight through the crisis.

“There’s a huge capacity squeeze right now as a result of the pandemic and the blocking of the Suez Canal. Logistics teams are under enormous pressure to keep their supply chains moving so we’re offering full and complete access to our marketplace to anyone who needs it,” comments Christian Wilhelm, founder and CEO at SHIPSTA. “Our message is simple: ShipstaGo will save you valuable time and help minimise any loss in efficiency.”

With much of the industry still dependent on manual processes and a lack of standardized procedures, sourcing and comparing spot rates can be a slow and onerous task. In a hot market when capacity is squeezed, it can take hours to organise transportation for each piece of cargo resulting in significant administrative and processing costs for businesses.

Shipsta is seeing surging demand on its online spot freight marketplace ShipstaGo.com as businesses turn to fast and efficient freight sourcing tools. The intuitive web-based platform allows shippers to rapidly source and compare spot rates from alternative carriers and freight forwarders. They can also award their spot freight through the marketplace, all with just a few clicks. It is proven to reduce sourcing process and administration by 95%, as well as giving full visibility of historical rates and transactions.

The company has also now added road freight to ShipstaGO.com for complete multi-modal spot freight sourcing and procurement. It is offering 90 days of free access to ShipstaGO.com and all of its features to anyone who registers by April 30th to help businesses navigate the crisis.

Founded in 2015, Shipsta also has an enterprise product for digital freight sourcing and procurement. SHIPSTA FLEX and has an enviable customer base including some of the largest businesses in the chemicals, pharmaceuticals and automotive industries. SHIPSTA’s founder and CEO Christian Wilhelm previously worked as the Global Logistics Partner Manager at Kuehne+Nagel.

“I left Kuhne + Nagel with the vision of building the Booking.com of the freight industry so I am delighted that we now offer the ability to source spot rates for air, ocean and road freight on a single platform,” comments Christian Wilhelm, founder and CEO at SHIPSTA.
