Carousel Achieves John Deere’s Highest Supplier Rating For The Third Time.

31 May, 18

Carousel, the leading European service logistics specialist, is delighted to announce it has been recognised as a Partner-Level Supplier in the John Deere Achieving Excellence Program for the third time, and for the second consecutive year.

The John Deere Partner Status is the highest rating that can be awarded to suppliers by the internationally distinguished brand, and this year it has awarded Carousel full marks on service delivery.

John Deere commended Carousel with a total of 500 points out of 500, acknowledging the specialist’s dedication to providing outstanding logistics services, as well as its commitment to continuous improvement. As part of the process, Carousel was assessed against five key categories which were:

  • Quality
  • Delivery
  • Technical Support
  • Wavelength (open communication and flexibility)
  • Cost Management

As a key part of the John Deere supply chain, servicing all postcodes and regions within the UK and Ireland, Carousel’s solution ensures that irrespective of size or weight, deliveries get where they need to be on time. This involves collecting from Southern Germany and Langar up to  8pm and delivering, often to the very remote extremities of the UK, by 8am the next morning.

Carousel’s European Strategic Relationship Director, Michael Martin, was accompanied by Andrew Ovenden, Special Services Director, to collect the award at the ‘John Deere 2018 Achieving Excellence Conference’ in Germany. The award was presented by two John Deere vice presidents, Pierre Guyot and Rich Czarnecki.

Morton Griffiths, UK Managing Director said: “The John Deere evaluation team were incredibly complimentary about our people, and our solutions, and we are delighted to have received full marks at this year’s awards.

“We are dedicated to delivering precisely when, where, how and at a speed our customers demand, ensuring a fast and reliable service delivery, exceptional customer service and absolutely no compromises. Earning this recognition from John Deere for the third time again demonstrates this commitment and importantly, how we help our clients get and keep the competitive edge in their respective markets.”

A spokesperson at John Deere said: “Carousel has been selected at this year’s awards because we have been consistently impressed with its outstanding service during the past 12 months. Despite a very demanding environment, Carousel continues to give us a reliable and agile solution that delivers the value our customers want and need. Having achieved some fantastic results over the last few years, they are thoroughly deserving of this award and I look forward to our ongoing partnership over the coming years.

Carousel and John Deere
Carousel has worked with John Deere for seven years handling its time critical and in night dealer deliveries in remote areas across the UK and Ireland. During this time, it has delivered consistently high service levels, including exceptional on-time delivery rates and a reduction in average delivery time overall.

In 2016 Carousel announced the extension of a new parts contract with John Deere. This contract utilises Carousel’s By:NIGHT service, and ensures John Deere’s customers get essential parts delivered throughout the night, at agreed specified times.

About the award
Suppliers who participate in the Achieving Excellence Program are evaluated annually in several key performance categories, including quality, cost management, delivery, technical support and wavelength, which is a measure of responsiveness. John Deere Supply Management created the program in 1991 to provide a supplier evaluation and feedback process that promotes continuous improvement.
