In early 2016, RCS Logistics, a fully-accredited third party logistics company who have made their home in Corby, Northamptonshire, at the heart of the UK warehousing and distribution industry, was awarded the BRC Accreditation for Storage and Distribution.
The Standard is designed to ensure best practice in handling, storage, and distribution of products covering food, packaging and consumer goods. The awarding criteria has been developed by industry experts and in order to become accredited organisations must undergo a rigorous auditing process by external inspectors, ensuring a completely independent review of the facilities and processes. The objective of the Standard is to ensure that the quality and safety of products during the storage and distribution are maintained, and that customer confidence is upheld through audit and certification.
Designed to promote continuous improvement, the accreditation covers seven key areas: senior management commitment and continual improvement; hazard and risk analysis; quality management system; site and building standards; vehicle operating standards; facility management; good operating practices; and personnel.

RCS Logistics also passed their ISO 9001:2008 renewal audit in February 2016 and surpassed all previous audit results. The audit involved external auditors analysing the organisations quality management systems (QMS) and concluded strong evidence of continual improvement.
