Asset Alliance Group has secured a major deal delivering 23 DAF XF 530 Super Space Cab 6×2 tractor units for distribution specialist, Bunzl Retail Supplies, after demonstrating superior knowledge, service and rates during a competitive tender process.

The Manchester-based firm has taken the DAF XF 530 tractor units on a two-year full-service contract hire agreement from Asset Alliance Group, after speaking to a number of different vehicle providers.

Craig Duddle, Transport Manager at Bunzl Retail Supplies, says: “We have worked with Asset Alliance Group previously on smaller agreements but never on a deal of this size. Finding a partner that understood our needs and that was able to point us in the right direction was essential for us, so we approached several contract hire providers before making our decision.

“Asset Alliance Group was able to provide us with exactly what we were looking for. The company’s sector expertise, attention to detail and competitive full-service contract hire rate were miles ahead of the rest.”

Each of the DAF tractors benefit from the spacious Super Space Cab, and will be in operation five days a week, clocking up approximately 160,000 kilometres on the road annually, delivering goods not for resale, such as cleaning products and packaging, to major supermarkets across the UK.

Craig adds: “The aftermarket service that Asset Alliance Group offer was another major draw for us. Our customer base is extensive, and we need to make sure our vehicles are on schedule, so ensuring maximum possible uptime is key.

“The impressive uptime promise, and repair and maintenance package give us peace of mind that we can continue delivering to our customers even in the unlikely event that something was to go wrong.”

Asset Alliance Group will retain ownership of the trucks as part of the deal, which includes all associated operational costs, including tyre replacements, full servicing, maintenance and repair requirements, safety inspections, road fund licensing and breakdown cover.

At the end of the agreement, Bunzl Retail Supplies will return the vehicles to Asset Alliance Group, avoiding any of the hassles normally associated with disposing of used trucks and trailers.

Richard Worthington, Business Development Manager, Asset Alliance Group, says: “We’re thrilled to have extended our partnership with Bunzl Retail Supplies and value the relationship we have with the team. We are delighted that we can support its latest fleet upgrade requirements with a package that meets the business’ overall needs.”

Bunzl Retail Supplies, a division of Bunzl plc, sources, consolidates, and supplies goods not for resale to warehouses, distribution centres and stores across the UK. The business has experience in distributing more than 15,000 product lines to the retail market.
