First Hydrogen has appointed Luisa Ferres Meyer as Chief Human Resources Officer of First Hydrogen UK. Her appointment will support growth strategies for the company’s UK subsidiary, which is developing the brand’s first hydrogen-fuelled and zero-emissions utility vehicles. Luisa has previously led people and talent management strategies for automotive brand Tesla.

Luisa’s experience has focused primarily in creating and leading HR functions within start-up and challenger organisations, largely within the automotive industry. She has held HR leadership roles at Tesla, where she was responsible for strategic and tactical HR management for the leadership team, covering functions including Sales & Marketing, Tesla Energy and Service Engineering. She has also been responsible for global talent acquisition, learning and development and development of organisational culture at Ineos Automotive. A telecoms engineer by education, Luisa has over a decade of experience in HR and holds an international MBA.

Steve Gill, Director and CEO of First Hydrogen UK comments: “Luisa is a very welcome addition to the team. She brings a wealth of experience with her, particularly in the automotive sector. Working with Tesla has provided her with first-hand experience of working within a progressive motor brand that is challenging industry conventions and working towards a zero-emissions future. Her people management skills will enable us to build and upskill the leadership team, helping us to grow UK operations and the business as a whole as we develop the first hydrogen-fuelled commercial fleet vehicles and refuelling solutions.”

Luisa Ferres Meyer, Chief Human Resources Director of First Hydrogen UK, says: “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join First Hydrogen as it begins to scale its efforts in decarbonising the automotive sector with the aim of supporting the global community’s ambition of reaching a “net zero” world. This has been a deep personal passion of mine throughout my career and I look forward to supporting UK CEO Steve Gill, together with the First Hydrogen leadership team, to build a fair and inclusive culture for all. To work alongside a team of renowned, experienced automotive leaders that are committed to drive that change is a true privilege.”
