Major corporate investment at KRÖNER-STÄRKE to meet increasing demand

16 August, 21

Leading manufacturer of clean label and organic ingredients KRÖNER-STÄRKE is celebrating the launch of its brand-new state-of-the-art bulk loading facility at its headquarters in Ibbenbüren, Germany. Investing in this new fully-automated facility has enabled the company to significantly increase its warehousing capacity, facilitating a rapid response to a burgeoning number of orders.

Suitable for the storage and distribution of the company’s wide range of products, the detached warehouse extends to over 7,000 sq. ft. and boasts four new fully automated loading lanes, each one spatially separated within its own enclosed area, ensuring different product flows remain completely apart.

Prior to loading, products pass through several layers of enhanced security screening at the new facility including metal detection and ejection. Quality assurance of products has also been further strengthened due to the installation of 39 new fully insulated, magnetically sealed loading and storage silos, considerably reducing any negative impacts of environmental or weather conditions upon stored items.

KRÖNER-STÄRKE expects to see a continued increase in demand for its functional ingredients throughout the rest of the year, and the versatility of its product range is allowing firms to diversify their ranges to meet current consumer demands. With Europe experiencing an upward trend in consumers opting to follow plant-based or flexitarian diets for example, the company’s range of spelt-based ingredients is proving particularly popular.

Overcoming the challenges to food manufacturers in producing high quality meat substitutes without the use of non-natural ingredients, the products in KRÖNER-STÄRKE’S spelt range can be used to improve stabilisation, texture, freshness, taste and yield, all without the use of artificial additives.

Commenting on the new development, Commercial Manager Henrik de Vries said: “Investing in this facility has allowed us to significantly increase our warehousing capacity, and the new fully-automated system is enabling us to respond to orders even more quickly. We’re excited about what the future holds for KRÖNER-STÄRKE in 2021 and beyond and we look forward to continuing our product development and growth strategy.”

KRÖNER-STÄRKE develops bespoke solutions to suit individual needs across a wide range of foods including baked goods, soups and convenience products, battered or dietetic products, and has a reputation for technical excellence in new product development.
