Yodel’s Sister Brand CollectPlus Partners With Hands On To Support Wrap Up Coat Collection At 7,000 Parcel Points For Fifth Year Running.

18 November, 19

CollectPlus, the UK’s largest independent store-based delivery and returns service, has renewed its partnership with Wrap Up London for 2019. Supporting the initiative for the fifth year running, the company will be collecting donated coats on behalf of the charity. This year is bigger than ever for Wrap Up, with more cities involved and able to make a difference. Yodel’s nationwide CollectPlus network enables the Wrap Up campaign to collect coat donations from people across the UK and distributes them to charities that support the homeless, elderly and other vulnerable people to keep warm in the lead up to Christmas.

The business will be supporting Wrap Up – which runs between the 8th and 23rd November – by providing shipping labels that can be used to send unwanted coats to the charity, from any of CollectPlus’ 7,000 Parcel Points across the UK. To give their old coats a new lease of life, supporters simply need to visit the CollectPlus website (ww.collectplus.co.uk), download and print out a label and attach it to their package before dropping it off at their local CollectPlus Point.

Collect Plus is using its heartfelt short film A Coat Tale – recently nominated for a 2019 Charity Film Award – to promote the initiative. Directed by Nick Tree, the film tells the emotional back-story of a coat donated to Wrap Up London, by following a woman who wears her coat during various key moments and milestones in her life with her partner; from their first date to a marriage proposal on Brighton beach. She then packages up her coat for Wrap Up and donates it via Yodel’s CollectPlus.

Sam Holden, chief commercial officer at Yodel, said:

“We are very proud to celebrate our fifth year in a row supporting this great cause. Yodel and CollectPlus colleagues love coming together to give back to the communities they serve. Last year we supported almost 2,000 collections and we hope to top that with the 2019 campaign. Our award-winning short film demonstrates how much of a difference donating an unwanted coat can make, and we hope that we can encourage more people than ever to support Wrap Up nationwide.”

Jon Meech, chief executive officer at HandsOn London, said:

“On the launch of this year’s campaign, Wrap Up London is nine years old. Every year, it is a truly humbling experience to see thousands of people coming together to help those most vulnerable in our communities. Despite the reach of the campaign, many people have wanted to donate a warm coat but have not been able to reach one of the collection points. The partnership with Collect Plus and Yodel has changed this. Now everyone has a collection point near them. This partnership has been a game changer for the campaign enabling thousands of people to contribute who would not have otherwise been able to. Because of this, thousands more people will be able to feel a little warmer this year, not just physically, but knowing someone cares.”
