As part of its ongoing growth strategy, Pullman Fleet Services, a subsidiary of Wincanton Group PLC, has been awarded a contract to provide fleet maintenance and repair services to Booths supermarkets, across the northern counties of England.

The deal will see Pullman Fleet Services manage and maintain Booths’ HGV fleet, which transports stock between the retailer’s distribution centre and stores. Booths has 28 stores across five counties in the north of England.

With a track record of providing commercial vehicles repair, maintenance and roadside assistance to major retail customers, Pullman was selected as a single provider to help Booths maximise vehicle availability and improve store service levels.

Vince McGurk, Managing Director at Pullman Fleet Services, commented: “Our experience in this sector means we understand how critical a functional and efficient fleet is to a retail business.  Delayed or cancelled journeys can have a significant impact on sales in-store.

“As a business, our commitment to health & safety, commercial flexibility and our ability to bring ‘best in class’ innovations to our customers means we can exceed our customer expectations, anticipate future needs and drive excellence in service.”

Chris Walls, Distribution Manager at Booths, added: “By bringing our fleet repair and maintenance into a single contract, with an established and proven partner, we are confident of securing continuity of service and peace of mind.  We look forward to working in partnership with Pullman to address our ongoing fleet requirements.”
