Reach Truck Preview
Hyster Europe previewed the R1.4E Reach Truck for the first time. Currently in development, the R1.0E, 1.2E, 1.4E Reach Truck models are designed for medium intensity operations, such as those frequently encountered in a retail environment.
The compact reach truck is designed to provide greater manoeuvrability in warehouses with narrow aisles and high racking and has a tilting mast with integral side shift and a compact chassis. An extension of the existing R1.4 – 2.5 Hyster
Reach Truck range, it will offer the same toughness, visibility, driveability and ease of control.
With the same premium operator compartment as the current Reach Truck series, the new models will offer a wide range of ergonomic features to increase driver comfort, as well as a number of optional enhancements, such as the Hyster Tracker fleet management system to assist operators. A choice of batteries also enables applications to match their power option to their shift duration and lifting capacity.
Latest warehouse solutions
At the Hyster Europe stand, visitors saw two of the latest trucks to join the full line of Hyster
warehouse solutions.
For businesses that need a stacker with optimal manoeuvrability in tight spaces, the new S1.0E-1.2E Compact Stacker truck series has been intelligently designed. With lift capacity up to 1.2 tonnes, the Hyster
Compact Stacker is ideal for everyday warehouse operations, offering less intensive applications a value for money solution.
Hyster Europe also showed the tough new Hyster
RS1.6 Rider Stacker truck, which features an innovative seat with a choice of three driving positions. Drivers can select either a standing position, a supported perch, or a fully seated position for optimum comfort, depending on the job. The stacker truck suits operations with variable demand and mixed applications, including tasks such as block stacking and load transfer over short and long distances, even in tight spaces.
360 degree power options
Hyster Europe also showed some of its latest developments from its full range of innovative technologies to support applications throughout the supply chain. For example, at LogiMAT 2018, the J1.6XN Electric Counterbalance lift truck with an integrated 48V lithium-ion battery solution was on show.
Lithium-ion (Li-Ion) batteries are increasingly becoming the solution of choice for materials handling equipment in extended or multi-shift applications where they offer advantages such as fast charging times, opportunity charging and energy efficiency. Along with a choice of flexible side battery exchange options for electric lift trucks up to 3.5-tonnes, this is another way for operations to manage their power options for Hyster
trucks, along with fuel cells and IC options.
Ideal for industries
In addition, the Hyster Europe stand showcased capabilities for supporting specific industries, such as the Hyster
‘Cool Truck’ package. Specially designed for demanding applications where there are high levels of dust, such as the paper, recycling, waste and wood applications, the Cool Truck packages is now available on Hyster
Fortens
IC lift trucks from 2.0-tonnes.
This H2.0FT Cool Truck was shown at LogiMAT fitted with the Hyster Tracker telematics system to demonstrate how features such as daily checks and idle shutdown can further support operators.
On the stand, experts from Hyster Europe also provided visitors with the latest information on new 360 degree technologies. For example, the company is introducing “affordable automation” for the repetitive handling tasks conducted by pedestrian lift trucks, reach trucks, Very Narrow Aisle lift trucks (VNAs) and tow tractors. The new self-drive lift truck solutions will be especially suited to the automotive industry.
Outside at the show visitors also had the opportunity to see a new low cabin option on a Hyster
H8.0FT forklift truck. Low cab and overhead guard options are available on a number of Hyster
counterbalance trucks and are ideal for container stuffing operations in ports and inland terminals.
Service, support and simulation
The worldwide network of local Hyster
distribution partners uses vast product and application knowledge to help applications find solutions to their daily operational challenges. For example, the innovative Hyster
warehouse simulator helps applications to choose the right configuration of forklift trucks for their operation, taking into account a variety of realistic scenarios.
Another type of simulation was on display at the Hyster Europe stand, where visitors had the opportunity to try a realistic 3D forklift simulator – back at LogiMAT after proving popular at the 2017 show. This has been developed to support the growing number of companies looking to explore using simulation as part of training programmes.
The strong Hyster
dealer network also allows customers to benefit from local service and support which caters to particular operational demands, plus fast spare parts supply, and options for specially engineered solutions.
