Davies Turner, the UK’s leading independent freight forwarder and logistics service provider, has been named as a winner in the Outsystems 2017 Innovation awards.
The ‘Customer Digital Experience Innovation’ award was presented to Davies Turner for the work involved in the development of its Supply Chain product – P2D – an online portal that enables customers to monitor and manage shipments at SKU & Purchase Order (PO) level.
Davies Turner Group Chairman, Philip Stephenson, said: “To thrive in the fiercely competitive overland, air cargo and sea freight business, we needed to create an advanced, interactive system for customers to monitor and manage shipments from the creation of the Purchase Order through to final Delivery, be that to the intermediary warehouse, or end user.
“Outsystems is the supplier of the platform that Davies Turner used to develop this enhanced solution, developing an App based on our own comprehensive specification, called P2D (Purchase to Delivery), completing the key stages in under four months.
“The App has helped to eliminate thousands of emails and phone calls, providing customers with more accurate information, online and in real-time.
“As one of the UK’s leading supply chain management providers, including warehousing and order-processing, as well as international freight and logistics services, we put great value on building secure and user-friendly support tools for our customers.
