Britannia - Raising the Profile of Member Training and Loss Prevention.

A regular fixture in Britannia P&I’s calendar is a training week of lectures and workshops aimed at its worldwide Members, helping delegates understand the intricacies of the day to day workings of Britannia P&I.

This year the event begins on 4

th

September, hosted at Britannia’s London office, and features talks by senior members of the claims, loss prevention, finance and underwriting teams.

Subjects covered include an introduction to P&I, managing charter party risks and a disaster scenario workshop.

“As well as gaining knowledge through listening to our experts, our training week provides the delegates with a great opportunity to share experiences and ask questions regarding best practises in a relaxed atmosphere,” said Tim Fuller, Chief Operating Officer of Tindall Riley (Britannia) Ltd.

“Networking is also an important aspect of the week and there is a plenty of downtime in the evenings. A lively social programme is organised so delegates get the opportunity to meet Britannia staff, putting faces to names.”

To further enhance its commitment to raise the profile of risk management and loss prevention, Britannia is a key sponsor of an event hosted by Trinity House during London International Shipping Week aboard the THV Galatea.

Moored alongside HMS Belfast, the event offers a rare opportunity for invited guests to tour this multi-function tender while learning about the services Trinity House provides.

The overall theme is one of maritime safety, training and risk mitigation so having experts from Britannia will help guests become more informed about the services Britannia can provide in these areas.

The event has the backing of the Department for Transport, The Chamber of Shipping and the MCA and will be taking place on Wednesday 13

September from 1700.
