Wincanton, the largest British logistics company, has received further endorsement of its commitment to the highest standards of health & safety with the announcement of a RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Gold award win and shortlisting in the Safety Award category at the upcoming CILT Annual Awards for Excellence.

RoSPA recently awarded Wincanton’s Coddington Crescent facility with a gold award for the fourth year running. The RoSPA awards are the most prestigious in the occupational health and safety sector and reflect Wincanton’s commitment to maintaining the highest levels of commitment to stringent health and safety protocols and reporting.

The RoSPA Gold Award is awarded to those organisations that achieve the highest levels of performance, demonstrating well developed occupational health and safety management systems and culture, outstanding control of risk and very low levels of error, harm and loss.

In addition to the RoSPA Gold award, Wincanton has also been shortlisted in the Safety Award category at the CILT Annual Awards for Excellence. The awards are designed to recognise achievement and to encourage the highest standards and professionalism in logistics, transport and operations.

Dean Clamp, Group HSEQ Director, said of the announcement: “To see our efforts in health and safety recognised by such prestigious bodies is something we can all be proud of. We make health and safety the number one priority in all of our operations, and these recognitions of our market-leading initiatives demonstrate just how successful they are.”

The RoSPA award ceremony is to be held on 14 September at Hilton Glasgow, with the CILT Safety Awards to be held on 19 October at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London.
