FTA Fleet Engineer Conference focusing on EU commercial vehicle legislation.

EU commercial vehicle legislation and developments will be in focus at the forthcoming FTA Fleet Engineer Conference later this year with Volvo Trucks as headline sponsor.

The Freight Transport Association event brings together key industry figures providing delegates with a unique and exclusive opportunity to hear the very latest developments in commercial vehicle technology, forthcoming maintenance legislation changes and best practice advice, ideal for those with responsibility for specifying commercial vehicles, ensuring roadworthiness compliance and maintaining vehicles.

FTA’s Fleet Engineer Conference 2016 will be chaired by FTA’s Head of Engineering, Andy Mair, who said:  “The Fleet Engineer Conference is a must-attend event which offers practical help to enable engineers to better manage their fleet for the next year and beyond.

“This year’s programme includes technical issues currently affecting fleet engineers, as well as future legislative changes, to ensure vehicle fleets and maintenance procedures operate to their highest potential in a safe, efficient and sustainable way.”

Attendees will also hear from keynote speaker Kevin Rooney, Traffic Commissioner for the north-east of England who will outline both he and his colleagues priorities for compliance.

Mr Rooney will be talking about the importance of maintenance provision and meeting compliance standards for operator licence holders in the face of competing priorities; from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) for an update on load securing and enforcement.
